A Star Sits Atop the Branch,
by J. W. Cassandra

I wrote the poem A Star Sits Atop the Branch about two months ago. It has not yet been included in any of my poetry books. The poem itself is symbolic: the star is both the indicator and the symbol of the light and the hellish depths of the soul. The title suggests that the star is far away from you because it is sitting atop the tree branch, but at the same time, it is close to you, as it can look into your dream. If you prove worthy, you will become like the star itself, and you will shed the light of the soul all over the place.
I will soon share the poem on my social media accounts, including my Facebook page. Link: www.facebook.com/j.w.cassandra
And I will also upload the poem soon to my Instagram accounts. Instagram links: www.instagram.com/j.w.cassandra

A star sits atop the branch:
It swings on the top.
It looks into your dream,
It fishes you out with its net.
So you sit next to it in its hiding
place:
You will be a star, a shelter!
Star nestling does nest
Atop the branch with great boldness.
Never look down on proudly:
Your tears are flowing down,
They can drag you deep, into the
night,
Into eternal soul-darkness!
But if you stay in its nest,
You will be a star, shining Sun!
You swing atop the branch:
You are glorious, a refuge...
