If the Righteous One Judges,
by J. W. Cassandra

"If the Righteous One Judges": This is the last poem about the Righteous One I have written so far. From November 18 to December 21, 2025, I wrote three poems on this topic. The present one is given special significance by the fact that it was created on the day of the winter solstice, and by the fact that it is the third.
If, on the other hand, we consider its real significance, then the motive of sin and punishment becomes clear: "Frightful for sinners, / Solace for the innocent". The metaphor of the radiant, glowing face also describes the Righteous One who is superior. The question of mortality and eternal life is also revealed in the poem from a different aspect: the mortal offends also by living. Thus, the omen referring to the Righteous One is the "star, falling into life." At the same time, it is also an expression of duality that the hand of the Righteous One separates the sinner from the innocent and descends to help the mortal at the crossroad. The framed poem also hides other symbols. The most important symbol is the Law that He fulfills among mortals. In addition, the lyrical self speaks to the reader in the second person singular, thus drawing him or her into the world of the poem.
I will later collect my poems about the Righteous One into the same cycle.
Frightful for sinners,
Solace for the innocent;
The hard will be easy,
If the Righteous One judges.
The face bursts forth from the
lights,
It consists of radiant light,
Judging of your being –
If you are pure, it is solace.
Everything falls down,
Not a stone is left upon a stone,
Mortal offends, death
Is eternal: do not defend yourself!
Only terrible for sinners,
Solace for the innocent:
The separating hand is light,
The heavy is falling,
Righteous One judges; his law is life.
Righteous Being, True Light are
Omen on the path of life:
The star, falling into life.
The darkness permeates
If you fell into existence,
Righteous One is the support,
If you stand at its crossroad.
Frightful for sinners,
Solace for the innocent;
The hard will be easy,
If the Righteous One judges!
