Silver Ladder,
by J. W. Cassandra

The poem entitled "Silver Ladder" is the second poem in the cycle, entitled "The Mystery of the Moonbeam Path". It explores the mystery of silver: everything in it is silver-coloured or made of silver. The lyrical self climbs to the Moon on his silver ladder, where he meets the sage. Secrets and searching, then discovery – and finally, the cry of the star accompanies the couple, who encounter on the moonbeam path and fall from there. Their existence has ended, but there is still hope: the silver mirror of the mysterious Moon-being is revealed...
I climb to the Moon on a silver
ladder:
I see a wise man in the gate, silver.
I talk about a secret with the sage
of the Moon,
On the moonbeam path, I will find you!
We walk on a ladder, a star weeps –
We fall, the tomb entombs us on
earth.
Silver moonlight shines into its crack,
The Moon-Being opens its mirror for us!
