The Glamour of LIFE,
by J. W. Cassandra

The poem "The Glamour of LIFE" can be found in the second cycle, entitled "The Firestorm of Creation", of my book of poems, one entitled "Eternity Awaken into Self-Consciousness". After "The Tiger's Song," there are four more poems that I will not publish. The current one is the closing poem of the cycle, the twelfth in the row. Its title is a variation of the title of the opening poem, "The Magic of Being", which also suggests that the overture and closing of the cycle actually revolve around the same thing: the creative powers and their creative magic.
In the opening poem "The Magic of Being", all the creative powers are concentrated in a single person, whom the lyrical self addresses as you. He is the magician with whom the reader can identify. In this manner, he becomes a part of creation.
The closing poem "The Glamour of LIFE" once again parades the three creative powers, but the shaman appears in the poem, who also rules the creative forces. Then, from this mediating force, the lyrical self turns to the reader, addressing him as you: while wandering lost, he is unaware that he himself is the begetter of LIFE. This ending, although the genre is a poem, is a cathartic experience for the reader, and it is also the zenith of the cycle.
I wish you a good read!
Tiger a-ride on Dragon's crest,
Shaman on Tiger's back at rest –
The Fae triumphs, her might
opens
New worlds
in thy soul's mossy, ancient well.
Wings of the Fire-drake sweep,
Tiger's throat-song echoes deep,
Shaman's
spell weaves light-dreams…
Miracles bloom in thy hidden deep,
Fae-glamour charms where life
doth sleep –
While lost
on the path of spells thou creepest,
Dragon-heart throbs within thy
breast,
Tiger-eye flashes, ne'er at
rest,
Fairy power doth thee imbue:
Lofty LIFE,
thy begetter, Lo, view!
