The Tiger Comes on the Scene,
by J. W. Cassandra

My poem The Tiger Comes on the Scene is the third poem of the cycle "The Firestorm of Creation" of my first volume, "Eternity Awaken into Self-Consciousness". Compared to the two previous poems, the opening image is not the wild prime or the wild night of creation, but a pale dawn. The former whirling creative dance and wild, alarming firestorm are replaced here by a fire bursting out in the sky, and instead of terror, a triumphal song resounds: the poem.
The third creative power appears here, in allegorical images. The first is the antagonistic contrast: "raging calm". From then on, its soft movements, lightning-fast movements, and fur appear in vivid allegorical images: the flame of the stripes flashes softly zigzags, yellow. It is the guardian of peace in the world: a mortal flame. This is another antagonistic opposition that will be resolved later.
In the new part of the poem, the tiger rules the lyrical self, and then he or she identifies with that: he or she is flooded with calm power. The zenith is finally the resounding of triumphal song at the pale dawn of Creation.
At the pale prime of Creation
In the sky, the fire flashes up –
My triumphal song is about it:
The furious calm flashes along the sky:
The flame of strips softly
zigzags,
Flashes in the sky yellow:
A mortal flame guards peace in the
world.
The price of tranquillity is bloodthirst,
The price of bloodthirst is patience,
Hunting Tiger stalks with me –
It moves my limbs, rules me:
Calm strength flashes in my limbs.
The Tiger leaps, ecstasy of
victory
Resounds in the world – at the pale prime
Of the Creation.
